Many on-campus classes are offered just once a year and some are available every alternate year. In addition, Sancta Sophia Seminary offers many one to three-day workshops on special subjects which are open to all.
The most beautiful and profound emotion
we can experience is the mystical.
Albert Einstein
The Religious Experience Research Center at the University of Oxford showed that in the years between 1987 and 2000, while churchgoing fell by 20%, the number of people reporting mystical experiences increased by 60%. According to Gallup Polls, 1 out of 3 Americans has had a mystical experience.
There is something so compelling about the mystical journey that many mystics often spend their lives clarifying the experience. The deeper you go, the lighter you become, the easier the peace. Inner light wants to shine. Vision wants to be shared. Talking about mysticism is like rolling strawberry shortcake around on the tongue. It so delicious, it’s like falling in love again and again. What is this wonderful experience people are talking about? Why do we respond so deeply? What is Mysticism? we will address, clarify, and deepen this question.

Sophia returns to the hearts and minds of her people, though she has been lost to many. Esoteric Christianity has always understood the transformational power of Wisdom. Judaism has Kabalah; Islam has Sufism and Christianity has its esoteric side, often called Sophianic. Mystery teachings provide access to the transformation process. May we greet Christ-Sophia within our hearts; may our path be wise. Understanding Esoteric Christianity changes the way we perceive the world in which we live. Join us in a fresh appreciation of the heart-centered path.

To find the real message of Christianity one has to sort out the gnosis from fiction. For centuries this has been the work, but today we consciously seek transformation as esoteric ideas are surfacing for those who are ready. Researchers, scientists, and translators are all doing their part in expansion of consciousness. This week we explore issues of mysteries, laws of life revealed, and powerful messages too often missed.

On the Path of Return the aspirant must learn to develop a loving and balanced relationship with the instinctual nature, called “basic self” in the Huna wisdom tradition, and to appropriately utilize each level of consciousness. During this class the subconscious or basic self (which remembers everything) will be respectfully invited to move beyond the defense systems it constructed in its attempt to protect the vulnerable self within. As the basic self learns to trust the safety of the class environment, it will be shown how to release old memories and scar tissue that block the full expression of the authentic inner self. Harmony and balance can be restored and the conscious mind can experience a renewed sense of well-being and authentic power.

Carl Gustav Jung, the founder of Jungian Psychology, explored the inner subjective world of the psyche developing a personal methodology of psychotherapy. This form of therapy relied heavily on exploring one’s dreams as a direct route and guide into the unconscious so that the personality could consciously dissolve restrictive and limiting energetic patterns known as a complex. The Archetype of Shadow is probably the easiest of the archetypes for most people to experience, and yet can hold a great deal of resistance for many. Resolution of this tension, or pattern of energy, is inherent in Jungian Shadow Work and an essential factor of personality integration. Jay has been working with a Jungian Analyst for a little over a year in Shadow Work. He offers personal insights of this process to engage participants in open dialogue with Shadow using creative expression, interaction, and the use of the Kabbalah Tree of Life and Haindl Tarot to explore the use of Shadow as a process of personality integration.
