Calling All Searchers and Servants for
a New Millennium
by Rev. Carol E. Parrish-Harra, Ph.D.
Humanity is in the midst of a momentous period in time. From the spirit side of life, myriad souls clamor to enter, to participate. Most, perhaps all, of the souls wanting human life now are not novices. They are experienced, often highly evolved souls who want to grow through the opportunities of the next 50 to 100 years. Ready for testing, they have knowledge to contribute; their inner guidance is adequately developed so they can rapidly recapitulate their wisdom. Most are not as captivated by materialism as humanity has been. Many are quite scientific with highly developed minds, and others are especially responsive to nature. The bright-eyed babies we see now will lead humanity toward peace, security, and an expanded awareness of our collective consciousness, our oneness.
Esoteric Christianity teaches that our evolutionary ascent back to God is happening. The Maya proclaim the Age of Flowers has just begun. The Hopi and the Maya foretold the Harmonic Convergence of August 1987, and throughout the last decade, we have witnessed momentous changes--good and evil. As the 2000-plus years of Aquarius approach, we hope to witness the evil decreasing, just as we have been dismayed by its increase. The feminine arts—sensitivity, healing, intuition—will gain in importance; cooperation and nurturing will have renewed value. Rational mind will be superseded by a holistic understanding which accepts “knowing” by other means as well.
Wise ones who proclaim a new way are granted only a limited number of earth years in which to be heard, and then the attention moves on. This unrelenting light illuminates our inconsistencies, ignorance’s, errors, and foolishness of any prized ideology. At the same time, it reflects the glittering gold of each design. We see great truth expressed, as well as old patterns reappearing. Life's lessons teach what we can comprehend at the time, then spiral back to teach again. Each embodied soul struggles through recapitulation, reestablishing its mastery of the body, emotions, and mind. It takes years to construct and reenergize usable vehicles, as well as to build the base of operations for the current life's work. As soon as a working relationship is established at the personality level, the soul makes its impact--the moment awaited, for those highly aware. To contribute to the divine energies needed for the progress of human life thrills the spiritual nature. Soul pours itself into its task.
“The work,” as it is called, becomes the most important reason for being. For the awakened, it colors all relationships and occupations. As one awakens to the soul presence, life and lifestyle change, old values and current means of expressing are renovated and refurbished, each area of life reviewed and updated. This age-old pattern repeats itself, hastening our enlightenment and humanity's.
At Sancta Sophia Seminary we are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the lives of many souls through this time of transition. As many seek to serve as focal points of inspiration and to bring their highly stimulating energy to stir humanity, we rejoice.
Equipping “bridge people” who will lead us into the new millennium is our objective and aspiration. Experienced in human life, our students find keys to master the lower nature—physical, emotional, and mental—to bring love-wisdom and wholeness into their blessed lives. They already know that the past prepares us for the future but must not dominate it. These people have tools within to share, sometimes needing encouragement to realize and share their gifts. Some carry with them a guiding vision, and some work in close harmony with the great ones of the higher worlds. Either way, the hierarchy of holy ones, whether embodied or standing in the wings, guides thousands who attune to their directions.
Humanity can choose change; we can be released from darkness, ignorance, and materiality. The absence of light (love-wisdom, perception, and spiritual insight) is darkness—called “sin” by some; it is the lack of recognizing the Christ-Within or the Self as divine. The absence of light is ignorance. A truer, more common definition of sin means “missing the mark.” Identifying solely with the physical life, some delude themselves into believing that the game of life is limited to mastery of the tangible plane. If we forget we have come here to perfect our divine potential and only participate as a physical being, we have, in fact, missed the mark, the point of having another learning experience on this plane.
Through spiritual guidelines, teachings, and conscious living, we will gain mastery over that human nature that becomes mired so easily. It is easy to get caught in intellectualism, in our desire nature, or in emotional pain or pleasure. True spiritual paths present us with the challenges needed to keep us on the edge of our seat, alert. If we observe the laws of our various religions, the disciplines and practices of spiritual traditions, or the intricate guidance of philosophy, we explore the underdeveloped or impure areas of our nature. As each imperfection is discovered and eradicated, additional insights come to have meaning, and time and again, we are made new.
Let us prepare ourselves to be beacons in the new millennium.
