Sancta Sophia Seminary offers esoteric Christian education without requiring you to become a full-time on-campus student at an esoteric school.
Your esoteric studies will consist of directed home-study combined with on-campus classes—allowing you to continue in your present occupation as you work toward personal growth, a seminary degree, or spiritual career. Your individual interests and goals will guide the direction of your studies as you work closely with a personal advisor.
Foundations of Spirituality is requisite for all other programs and graduate degrees offered at Sancta Sophia Seminary. From this metaphysical studies foundation, you may pursue ministerial ordination or become a teacher of esoteric philosophy, wellness guide, or spiritual mentor. It is also requisite for Doctoral and Master Degrees.
Because many of your esoteric school studies can be completed from home, you may begin at any time. Visit our Seminary Applications page for full details.

Sancta Sophia means “holy wisdom,” and it is our goal to share Ancient Wisdom. Sophia introduces feminine insightfulness to partner with the Christ as the loving Master. This combined influence brings about a balance and moves us toward Oneness, unity, and the uplifting of human consciousness.
A Message from Our Dean and Founder Carol E. Parrish:
As you ride the long-anticipated and welcome new wave of spirituality, you'll see that your fellow travelers are people of all faiths, even those who have no formal religious affiliations. A hunger for new awareness and deeper understanding of the inner nature is upon us, and it demands new responses. The techniques of the “age of reason” no longer satisfy the spirit.
The new wave has been growing and approaching for some time … so in 1977, we founded Sancta Sophia Seminary to offer an innovative approach to spirituality and to prepare those called to planetary service through personal transformation. New roles requiring pioneering strategies need to be assumed by those who would serve as spiritual mentors, whether in ordained ministry, or as educators in churches, spiritual centers, and communities.
As a mystic, I desire to see a spiritual science that helps each disciple wisely draw upon the light, love, and power available from within. This requires a psychology that serves the Soul, a philosophy that identifies humanity with its Source, and a religion that acknowledges Sophia—Wisdom—in all sacred books.
A sincere respect for all people, eclectic guidelines, and an interfaith environment will result in a successful union of spiritual education and preparation for ministry.
Sancta Sophia Seminary has created just such a program. It is our hope that the high creativity dormant in each individual will be revealed and given in service to the Creator. Our contemporary grasp of human consciousness will assist world religions in building a deeper appreciation of one another's practices and perspectives. Our interfaith approach will encourage Oneness and unity.
By reclaiming and reworking the age-old apprentice method and emphasizing personal work with a mentor, a fitting balance of on-campus and home study, innovative projects, practicum, and internships, many have witnessed a revitalized spirituality emerge.
It is our experience at Sancta Sophia that such a combination of inner work and academic under-girding prepares students to give the gift of Self to those they seek to serve.
Spiritual academies of the future must honor the Oneness of planetary life for all to be blessed.
I welcome you to Sancta Sophia Seminary and look forward to guiding you in your journey.
Namaste,
Carol E. Parrish
